Scholarship Dates, Deadlines, & Awards

Listed below are scholarship dates and deadlines.  As new scholarship information becomes available, it will be posted here. Some scholarships require a recommendation by a counselor. If you feel that you meet all other requirements, see Mrs. Williams for a written recommendation.  Contact the counseling center for more information.

  • Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship Application ($500) Applications must be postmarked by March 11, 2016 Students should be planning to enroll in a full-time course of study leading to a major in a field related to banking.  Applications must be postmarked by March 13, 2015.  Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School.
  • Fine Arts Scholarship Application – Awarded to a senior in high school with a declared major or minor in art or art education.  Applications must be postmarked or hand delivered no later than April 1, 2016. The amount of the scholarship varies from year to year. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School.
  • Three Rivers College Scholarship –  Scholarship applications received after the deadline of April 1 2016, will be considered according to the availability of funds.  Awards are made according to eligibility of the availability of the funds.  Applications can be picked up in the Counseling center at the High School.   • Dr. Michael D. Laseter Memorial Scholarship Application ($1,000) –  Priority application deadline: March 1, 2016. This scholarship is limited to a senior at Poplar Bluff Senior High School planning to major in the medical field. Scholarship applications received after the deadline will be considered according to the availability of funds. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling center at the High School.
  • AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary / Department of  Missouri Scholarship ($500) – Deadline of February 1, 2016.  Two awards will go to an “A/B” average student. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School
  • AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary / LB I Nita Ratliff Memorial Scholarship ($500) –  Deadline of February 1, 2016.  One award  to a “C” average high school student. If no “C” average student applies, this shall be awarded to a needy student. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School.
  • Mary Lynn Wolpers Scholarship ($1,300) –  Deadline March 1, 2016. The scholarship will be a one-time award to a Poplar Bluff Senior High School graduating senior planning to attend an approved post-secondary institution.  The application deadline will be March 1, 2015.  Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School.
  • Wayne Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship ($500) –   (Updated information will be posted in 2016)Scholarship for a student who is a member of a Farm Family ( Farm family-one who is raising cattle, horses, hogs, poultry or who row crops at the present time for profit) The application deadline is April 15, 2015.  Applications can be picked up in the Counseling center at the High School.
  • English Majors Scholarship ($9,000) –  (Updated information will be posted in 2016) Deadline Sunday, February 15, 2015.  Two Four-year scholarships for incoming Englis Majors at Missouri Valley College.   • Dr. Darrell “Jack” Holley/Music Scholarship ($2,000) –  (Jackson Rideout has received this scholarship for 2016) A $2,000.00 scholarships (nonrenewable) will be awarded to student who graduate in 2015 from high schools in MUSIC member districts.  Please see Mrs. Regina Williams for the 2015 application, only one student will be nominated.
  • Jackie Joyner-Kersee Scholarship / Lindenwood University –  (Updated information will be posted in 2016) Two full scholarships (tuition, room, and board) for the 2015-2016 academic year. To be considered for this scholarship, all the following documents must be postmarked by March 2, 2015 scholarship application, essay, two reference letters, high school/college transcript(s), and application to Lindewood University.  In addition, the FAFSA must be filed out by March 2, 2015, including Lindewood University’s school code 002480. Incomplete application packets will not be considered. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School.
  • Black & White ball Scholarship Application / Lindenwood University-   (Updated information will be posted in 2016) Two full scholarships (tuition, room, and board) for the 2015-2016 academic year. To be considered for this scholarship, all the following documents must be postmarked by March 2, 2015 scholarship application, essay, two reference letters, high school/college transcript(s), and application to Lindewood University.  In addition, the FAFSA must be filed out by March 2, 2015, including Lindewood University’s school code 002480. Incomplete application packets will not be considered. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School.
  • PBHS Designing Women Scholarship –  (Updated information will be posted in 2016) Priority application deadline: May 1, 2015. Scholarship applications received after the deadline will be considered according to the availability of funds.  This $1,000 scholarship is limited to a female senior at Poplar Bluff High School. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School
  • AMVETS Department Scholarship Award – There will be three $500 scholarships awarded each year. Two will go to an “A/B” average student and one LB & Nita Ratliff Scholarship to a “C” Average student. Please pickup a scholarship application in the counseling office.
  • Poplar Bluff Masonic Lodge #209 Scholarship – Applicant must be related to a member of the Missouri Masonic Lodge or Missouri Eastern star Chapter or be a member of Missouri Masonic Youth Organization. Applicant must have a 3.0. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School or click on link Poplar Bluff Masonic Lodge
  • The Masonic Scholarship Fund of Missouri, INC.  Please consider this application for the following scholarships – Samuel Smith Stewart Scholarship, Masonic Merit Scholarship, Ruth Lutes Bachmann Scholarship ( Lutes Bachmann is for qualified high school graduates to enable them to become nurses or school teachers. – Selection of scholarship recipients will be based on scholastic performance, aptitude and financial need.  GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, ACT, SAT-or equivalent-test score. (Sores considered 18-36) Applications may be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School or click on The Masonic Scholarship Fund of Missouri
  • Alpha Beta Chapter alpha Delta Kappa – Alpha Delta Kappa is interested in helping an undergraduate student who is planning to major in education.    The amounts of the scholarships vary from year to year, but generally range between $200 and $500 per year. The deadline is April 1, 2016. Applications may be picked up in the Counseling Center at the High School.
