Missouri Preschool Program - Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the program cost?
Unlike our half day program, our full day program is paid program. We offer a sliding scale and competitive pricing. The regular weekly fee is $100. If your family qualifies for reduced lunches, your fee will be $90. If your family qualifies for free lunches, your fee will be $80. We also accept state child care subsidies. If your child qualifies for a child care subsidy, then your fee will only be the difference between what the state pays and the $80 rate.

What are your hours of operation?
Our facility is open from 7 a.m. 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. We are open all year, minus major holidays. See your child’s teachers for specific dates the facility is open and closed. We will still be open on district PLC days. We will also follow the district weather closings if inclement weather should arise. You will not be charged for days
the district is closed for weather. If your child does not attend due to illness or if you keep them home for other reasons, you are still responsible for paying for that day.

Who qualifies for the full day program?
Unlike our half day program, there is no screening process. The full day program is on a first come, first serve basis. Any child who is potty trained and is 3 years old by July 31, 2016 and not 5 years old before July 31, 2016, is eligible for the full day program.

My child is already in the half day program. Can we switch?
If you feel that the full day program better suits the needs of your family, you are more than welcome to switch. If you leave the half day program, your child’s spot will be given to a child on the waiting list. However, if you decide to go back to the half-day program, you will have to go on the waiting list and wait for a spot to become available.

What will my child get here that they would not get somewhere else?
In our program, we provide our students with certified teachers, with teaching certificates from the State of Missouri. These teachers have been trained to identify and meet the needs of a diverse room of young learners. We offer many different hands-on experiences to engage students. Our assistants are highly trained and substitute certified through the Missouri Department of Education. We also include breakfast, lunch and snacks in our weekly fee.
