The Mules Booster Club has named Zoë Freeman and Logan Ringstaff of Poplar Bluff High School the December Athletes of the Month, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors.

Logan, a senior wrestler, is 30-5 this season, with 17 pins, and notably has earned a victory over the Class 4 returning runner-up, reported his coach, Kelton Thompson. Logan was the St. Charles Invitational champion, and placed second at the Patriot Classic, Bring the Hammer and the Farmington tournaments.

“Logan has done well stepping up and winning some big matches this year. He has a very strong work ethic and is committed to doing extra work,” Thompson said. “Logan is a positive influence on the younger wrestlers in the wrestling room. He has made tremendous progress over his four years in high school.”

Zoë, a freshman wrestler, is undefeated this season at 29-0, with 21 pins thus far. She was named champion of the Patriot Classic, the Bring the Hammer Tournament, Sikeston, Capital City and St. Charles.

“Zoë has shown incredible dedication throughout the season and has grown tremendously on the mat,” said Thompson, her coach also. “She is a great teammate and puts her team first. She is very coachable and works on mastering her technique every day at practice.”
