Virtual Learning Options

Missouri Course Access and Virtual School Program (MOCAP)

In accordance with Section 161.670, RSMo, and Board Policy IGCD, the Poplar Bluff School District provides access to virtual course enrollment through MOCAP for all eligible students.

Enrollment and Procedures

  • Request Process: Students or parents/guardians must receive district approval before enrolling in a virtual course paid for by the district. Requests should be submitted to the building principal.
  • Timeline: The district will approve or deny MOCAP enrollment requests within ten (10) business days.
  • Determination: Enrollment may be denied only if it is determined that virtual instruction is not in the student's best educational interest.
  • Students with Disabilities: Enrollment decisions for students with an IEP or Section 504 plan are determined by the student's existing IEP or 504 team.
  • Appeals: Denials may be appealed to the Superintendent and then to the Board of Education.
