The Mules Booster Club has named Hannah Corcimiglia and Lucas Robertson of Poplar Bluff High School the December Athletes of the Month, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors.

Lucas, a sophomore wrestler, is 37-3 this season, with 15 pins, 11 of which were against top 10 ranked opponents. He placed first at the St. Genevieve and Bring the Hammer tournaments; the Bluff and Collierville Duals; Bentonville West and the SEMO Conference; and went undefeated at the Hillsboro Duals. He is in the top 10 of his class with an 11.2 grade point average, and has lettered academically.

“Lucas leads by example daily by having a tremendous work ethic in the wrestling room and in the classroom” and “by doing all things the right way even when no one is watching,” said his coach, Kelton Thompson. “Lucas also mentors many of the other wrestlers with his positive attitude and advanced knowledge of wrestling.”

Hannah, a senior Girls Basketball player, has averaged 9.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. In the classroom, she is ranked 11th with an 11.268 GPA, according to her coach, John David Pattillo.

“Hannah has a large role on our team and has been getting better each day,” Pattillo said. “She is a hard worker with a high basketball IQ.”
