Incorporated in 1999, the Boys & Girls Club of Poplar Bluff has been serving youth in our community since 2000. The Club has grown from two school-based sites and 60 members and now is open in six locations throughout the community—helping over 400 youth daily to have a safe and positive place to go after school. BGC focuses on academics, healthy lifestyles, good character, and citizenship. BGC fosters positive relationships with adults, provides opportunities for new experiences and a place to make new friends and an environment where children can learn and play safely during out-of-school time.
Boys and Girls Club of Poplar Bluff is an after-school and summer program which serves the school-age youth of our community. The mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. In order to serve those who need us the most, quality after-school care for working families is offered at a very low cost.
Afterschool Program
BGC provides after-school care to youth attending kindergarten through high school. After school transportation is provided to our members attending Poplar Bluff R-I. All parents must attend an orientation before their child can begin attending BGC.
Summer Program
BGC provides summer care for youth between the ages of 6-17. Our summer program begins a few weeks after school dismisses for the summer and ends a few weeks before school begins in the fall.
Club offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with a learning program and field trips. A weekly charge applies to our summer camp attendees to cover these costs.
