The Mules Booster Club has named Madelyn Eads and Logan Hite of Poplar Bluff High School the January Athletes of the Month, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors.
Logan, a junior wrestler, has a season record of 32-6, leading nearly a perfect month in January, during which he amassed six ranked wins, including three over a defending Class 3 State runner-up. He placed first in the SEMO Conference and St. Charles Invitational; second in the Farmington Tournament and during the Patriot Classic; third in the Kyle Thrasher Tournament; and fourth at Bring the Hammer.
“Logan is one of the most driven and dedicated athletes I have ever met,” said Kelton Thompson, his coach. “He is dedicated to his craft and does not shy away from long hours of difficult training. He is a great team leader who leads by example on and off the mat.”
Madelyn, a senior basketball player, presently averages 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. She holds the record for 3-pointers made in a single game with eight.
“Madelyn has been an excellent example of work ethic and sportsmanship,” stated John David Pattillo, her coach.
